ji777Viktor Gyokeres' agent has fired a parting shot at Sporting CP after the Swedish international finally completed his transfer move to Arsenal.
bingo plusGyokeres has been handed the No.14 shirt at the Gunners and Mikel Arteta gave the 27-year-old a preseason debut off the bench in the 1-0 defeat to Tottenham in Hong Kong.
winphFollowing weeks of negotiations, Gyokeres' former side finally accepted a £63.5mpackage - with an up front £55mfee paid to the Portuguese giants - as Arteta landed his No.1 target.
Gyokeres, who scored 97 goals in 102 games for Sporting CP, faces a challenge to hit the ground running in North London but fan confidence is high that he can be the missing piece in Arteta's attacking jigsaw in 2025/26.
However, the optimism at the Emirates Stadium is countered by bitterness over his final few weeks in Lisbon, as the exit saga dragged on.
Sporting CP president Frederico Varandas took a hard line approach over Gyokeres refusal to return for preseason with the striker fined his full June salary as the tension ramped up.

Gyokeres' agent slams Sporting CP and confirms Real Madrid rumour
Chalkis spoke out on his frustration at Sporting CP's stance and admitted Real Madrid and Manchester United both entered the race as talks threatened to break down.
'The idea of [missing training] came from Sporting. They were the ones who gave him time off,' he told Record.
'It’s a shame there wasn't more respect for what Viktor wanted and what his biggest dream was. Especially after everything he did for Sporting. Two seasons, three titles and all those goals.
'It was a mess. There was a gentleman’s agreement with the previous sporting director. If Hugo Viana was still at Sporting, the deal would have been done in an hour.
'They offered him to Real Madrid, he made headlines with Real Madrid and even [Manchester] United, but from day one there was a commitment to Arsenal.'
Arsenal now face two home friendlies, against Villarreal and Athletic Club on August 6th and 9th, before a Premier League opener at United on August 17.
Gyokeres famously never made a top-flight in four seasons at Brighton & Hove Albion from 2017 to 2021 but he looks certain to change that at Old Trafford next month.
