sg777The Golden State Warriors and Jonathan Kuminga are in a staring contest that might not end anytime soon. Kuminga and his team have made it clear they want big money and a big role. The Warriors are not necessarily willing to offer either at the moment. That’s why Kuminga's sign-and-trades have been the subject of most Warriors rumors of late.

Phoenix has made the most lucrative push via sign-and-trade…Kuminga prefers the longer-term offers presented by the Kings and Suns because he believes they signify a fresh start, a larger guaranteed role, a promised starting position and a greater level of respect and career control, shown in part through the player option, sources said.

Phoenix's proposal is also nearly $70 million more guaranteed than the Warriors' offer.”

The fact that Kuminga is getting such better offers from other teams does not bode well for the Warriors. The Warriors rumors from this article also suggest that the Warriors may be inclined to keep Kuminga instead of seeking sign-and-trade partners. 

This will just make things awkward. Kuminga doesn’t want to play on the Warriors, and the Warriors have been actively trying to get rid of him all offseason. 

If Kuminga returns to the Warriors, will he and the team be able to put their differences aside? Both sides better hope so. 

If there is no Kuminga trade this offseason, many believe that the Warriors will try to trade him during the season. If Kuminga is pouting about lost money and opportunity, his value will go down, and the Warriors will once again be apprehensive to trade him.
